The Maharashtra National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination 2023 is an entrance exam that is organized for the eligible applicants of class VIII studying in a different school located in the state of Maharashtra every year. However, the NMMS entrance exam is organized in two stages at the state level (first stage) and national level (second stage) to classify talented applicants in the economically backward group and nurture their talents.

The official authorities will National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi will conduct the second stage of the NMMS exam with the motive of offering a scholarship to applicants to approximately 100000 whose family annual income is less than Rs 150000 per anum.

Educational qualification:
Applicant studying in the VIII class from a known government, local body, and government-aided schools are only eligible whose parents’ annual income is less than Rs 1,50,000/-.

Qualifying marks:
To appear for the entrance exam, the reserved category applicants must have scored not less than 50% Marks in the VII class and that of the General category applicants must have scored at least 55% Marks in the VII class.

NMMS Maharashtra 2023 Paper Pattern

The official authority will organize the written exam in two parts as mention below:
Part 1: MAT (General Mental Ability Test) – 90 questions of 90 marks.
Part 2: SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) – 90 questions of 90 marks.

  • The official authority will ask 90 questions for 90 marks in the entrance exam and applicants will have to solve the paper within 90 minutes duration in OMR sheets with the help of a black or blue ball pen only.
  • The official authority will ask MCQ-type objective questions in the entrance exam.
  • And there will be no negative markings in the exam and one mark for each correct answer will be awarded to the eligible applicants.
  • The MAT paper will be based on topics like Analogy, Classification, Numerical series, Pattern perception, Hidden figures.
  • The SAT paper will be based on topics like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social studies, Mathematics.
